Dr Obeyesekere completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Monash
University in 2000 and then trained in Cardiology at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne and was
awarded the FRACP Cardiology in 2008.

In 2009, Dr Obeyesekere undertook post-graduate training in electrophysiology and pacing at
Monash Medical Centre Clayton.

In 2010-2011, Dr Obeyesekere undertook advanced electrophysiology and pacing training at the
University Hospital, University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada.
Dr Obeyesekere also took a prominent role in research and his original research has been
published in internationally regarded journals including Circulation, Circulation Arrhythmia,
Heart Rhythm, etc. Dr Obeyesekere has also authored numerous book chapters.

Dr Obeyesekere operates at both public (Northern Health, Epping) and private hospitals (Cabrini,
Epworth, Warringal, The Avenue and Western Private) in Melbourne.
